Abstract:
This article is about Prophetic Rhetoric. Particularly, the topics of the Art of “Iltifāt” (الالتفات) in the prophetic sayings, as treated in Mirqāt-al-Mafāteeh (A commentary on Mishkāāt-al-Masābeeh by Mulla Ali ibn (Sultān) Muhammad Al Qarī,). It means shifting from one style to another style. In light of this, this article consists of an introduction, an explanation of prophetic rhetoric with examples and a conclusion. Particularly, it explained the meaning of “Iltifāt” and declared the basic concept of Prophetic “Iltifāt”, and elaborated the main kind of it with attractable examples in detail to convey the message properly to the listener/reader and its impacts on the speech and meanings, according the Prophetic deal with reader/listener as they are differing from one to other, as well as, it examined the style of semantics in Prophetic “Iltifāt”.
