Abstract:
The word “Tafsir” is an Arabic word that means to clarify and to express clearly. In Islamic terminology, Muslims call the knowledge of the interpretation of the Qur’an “Tafsir” and the one who interprets it, called “Mufsir”. This is the knowledge by which the Qur’an is understood. From this knowledge, the meaning of the Qur’an, and its rules are known, in this regard, help is sought from Dictionaries, Syntax, Elm Al Muani and Elm Al Bayan, etc. It also seeks help from the causes of revelation. In the Qur’an, Tawil and Tafsir are used interchangeably. In the same way, such a commentary in which the authentic traditions of the Qur’an and Sunnah, the sayings of the Companions (R.A) and Tabiein and history should be taken into account. This type of commentary is also called “Tafsir Bilmanthur” or “Tafsir Manqul”. The most famous of these types is “Tafseer Al Qur’an Bil Qur’an”, and that is that the Qur’an itself interprets itself in many places. In this article, the commentary of “Al-Muharram Al-Wajiz by Ibn Atiyah” has been studied analytically and the popular types of commentary mentioned above have been discussed.
