A Practical Perspective on the Social Application of Asbab al-Nuzul Narrations in Tafsr Zad al-Masir

Abstract

The sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (Ahadith) are a fundamental part of Islam, forming the basis of Islamic law (Shariah) after the Quran. The Quran is a comprehensive code of life that provides spiritual guidance and addresses various aspects of social living. Tafsir Zad al-Masir by Ibn al-Jawzi is a significant work of Islamic scholarship, offering concise yet comprehensive explanations of Quranic verses. This commentary includes narrations related to the reasons for the revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul) to provide contextual understanding of the verses. This article aims to critically analyze the narrations of Asbab al-Nuzul in Zad al-Masir and explore their relevance and application in social contexts.
