Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines or Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

1. Language

The language of the manuscript must be English (either American or British standard, but not the mixture of both).

2. Length of paper

The length of the paper should not exceed 30 pages (Times New Roman, 12 Font) excluding tables, figures, references and appendices (if any). Paper containing more than 30 pages will be returned to the author(s) to reduce. Articles should be typed in double-space (including footnotes and references) on one side of the paper only (preferably A4) with wide margins. Authors are urged to write as briefly as possible, but not at the expense of clarity.

  1. English articles must be typed keeping in view the instruction mentioned above.
  2. Urdu articles must be written in MS Word (Jamil Noori Nastilq, 14 Font).
  3. Arabic articles must be written in MS Word (Traditional Arabic Fonts recommended for Arabic articles, 14 Font).

3. Title Page

The title page should include:

  1. A concise and informative title
  2. The name(s) of the author(s)
  3. The affiliation(s) / Department
  4. Postal Address (es) of the author(s)
  5. The e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers (if available) of the corresponding authors
  6. vi. Date of Submission

4. Abstract

The abstract should be concise up to 150-200 words which should not be contained any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references. Abstract in English is essential for the research papers of Urdu and Arabic languages.

5. Keywords

Please provide 4 to 6 keywords, which can be used for indexing purposes.

6. Acknowledgment

The author may use the acknowledgement section in the title page of the paper (if any).

7. Subdivision of the article

The article must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1, 2. (then 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2), 1.2, etc. The abstract is not included in section numbering.

8. Table and Figures

Tables and figures should be presented within the article, not at the end of the article. This point is to be noted that the article will be published in black and white (print), although the online version will contain colorful figures (if any).

9. References

Author(s) should follow the latest edition of the Chicago Manual of Style in referencing. Please visit www.chicagomanualofstyle.org to learn more about the Chicago Manual of Style.

Citations in the text

It must be ensured that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Avoid citations in the abstract. Unpublished results and personal communications should not be in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text. Citation of a reference as ‘in press’ implies that the item has been accepted for publication.

Reference List

References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Open Access Policy:

International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS) is an open-access journal w.e.f. 01 April 2021 to onwards. All articles w.e.f. 01 April 2021 to onwards published in our journal are open access, freely available online and it allowed readers to read, download, copy, print, and use them for any other lawful purpose. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Furthermore, submissions are open throughout the year.

Plagiarism Policy:

International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS) strictly follows Plagiarism Policy as per the guidelines of HEC. The Similarity Report on Turnitin should be below 19%. If the similarity Report of the submitted manuscript is more than 19% then it will be rejected or it can be left at the decision of the Editorial Board for the purposes of a conditional acceptance. The editorial board is very strict regarding plagiarism. The journal believes that taking the idea and work of others without giving them credit is unfair and dishonest. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the author to make sure that he/she has submitted an entirely original work and if he/she take some work of others then he/she must give due credit to the first author.

License Policy:

International Research Journal on Islamic Studies (IRJIS) by Al-Riaz Quranic Research Centre is licensed under a creative commons license i.e. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). The authors retain copyright under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. However, the author has to sign a form agreeing to the publication of their article under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Copyright Policy:

After the meeting of the Editorial Board, our copyright policy has been changed from 1st April 2021. Now the authors retain copyright under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. However, the author has to sign a form agreeing to the publication of their article under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
